Spirited Away Japanese Animated Movie Review

Classical Japanese animated movie, for those who like watching old animated Japanese movies. It has drama, action and some supernatural in it. Though it is slow paced story, It does have it's some fine points that makes it interesting movie.



Plot: Chihiro and her parents are moving to another town and they take detour to find empty town where they get lost. And from there story starts to unfold slowly. It does take turn around characters like chihiro (which later gets name of sen), haku and yiyoba.

What to like about this animated movie
  • 2D art (especially for town, night art and some other random art)
  • Story
  • Music

What not to like
  • Slow pace



Other than the pace, most of the stuff in the movie was good. In fact it was good even for kids. There was nothing gory or stuff that makes you avoid watching with kids. Even the dragons and the ghosts are not scary and they are drawn nicely.

If you like the vanilla animation in the old Japanese movies, then you are going to love Spirited away. See if you can get DVD in case if you collect Japanese animation.

The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 Review

I have previously reviewed The Dark Knight Returns Part 1, and after watching the second part, I decided to write a review on the end of it. Second part of this series has some good points that makes a perfect ending for this duo logy. It does drag a bit during the clash with the joker but rest of the movie has excellent pace.

Compared to the first part of the series, this part is much better.



If you ever dreamed about watching superman vs batman on animated series, then your wish comes true with this film. It has everything that you need from typical fast paced batman movie. I have found that only the jokers side was a bit weak but rest of the movie was arranged just fine.

What to like about this movie:
  • Superman vs Batman fight.
  • Good story
  • Classy joker plot in the movie.

What not to like about this movie:
  • A bit dragged on the jokers part.

I suggest grabbing a DVD of The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, If you wish to enjoy the old batman in action. In comparison to the first movie, this one has more action and the typical batman schemes that work out towards success. I think this movie is worth the collection for DVD.

The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 Review

Batman is one of the DC superhero with intellectual superiority. Most of the other DC superheroes simply lack the schemes and the skills to beat the enemies the way batman plans. Most of the comics and the animated movies point you towards fact where batman always has plans within plans. You'll find the same in the "The dark knight returns Part 1" movie.



It is new animated movie released in 2012, with set in 40 years after batman and the justice league falls apart. Batman gets back into the action, after he realizes the fact that crime is unstoppable unless he sets an example in front of the criminals. You'll find the story moving from this situation and from there you'll see how the story unfolds slowly.

What to like about the movie:
  • Fast pace.
  • Typical batman schemes and plans.
  • Good story.

What not to like about the movie.
  • A bit dragged at some points but recovered quickly.
  • Harvey dent doesn't put much enemy show.
  • Mutant leader doesn't look like a worthy enemy.

Is it worthy of collection?

Like Justice League: Doom, I have enjoyed The dark knight returns part 1 DVD and I think it is worthy of collection.

If you like batman movies then you're going to love this animated version as well. It has second part which ends the dark knight journey. I may review that later once I get my hands to the movie DVD.

Insidious 2011 Review

Insidious is one of those films with less gore and creates environmental horror in it's theme. I have enjoyed this movie and I can tell you that it is one good movie worth enjoying If you like horror. It starts off with character development and slowly gets into the point where things are rushed to end. It may not be ending the way you like it or may not be good story for you but It is worth watching once.



It does feel like you are watching some horror show episode with short story and the directors have managed to pull up some good story there.

What to like about this movie
  • Slow pace with character development.
  • Situational horror story.
  • Nice acting from the characters.


What not to like about this movie.
  • Short story doesn't cut much expectations.


Check out Insidious on DVD or watch online. 

I can't say if it is collection worthy but I can surely say that it is worth watching atleast once if you like horror movie.

Sinister 2012 Review

None of the gory horror movies made the cut in 2012. So I decided to go with the psychological horror genre.

The movie Sinister was very good and It  was worth checking out If you like horror movies. It was entertaining for almost every type of the horror movie viewer. It is not gory but it has excellent psychological story that will keep you hooked to the chair till the end. And you are going to love the ending of this movie.



Buggul deity is known among continents like Europe and Asia (esp India) that takes kids away from the parents.The story of this deity is turned in a such way that it hooks you up to the movie.

What to like about this movie:
  • Faster pace yet better character development
  • Good direction
  • Excellent story twist


What not to like about the movie:
  • Nothing much.
  • Non-horror fans may not like the psychological touch.

I personally found this movie interesting and collection worthy. You can grab Sinister DVD. It has everything you expect from the psychological thriller/horror movie.
