Classic Cartoons from the 60's and 70s ruled the television world for quite some time. It all started with small filler cartoons released during 1950s and then many animation studios came up with various popular characters in these cartoon shows. After 80's the growth of better cartoon characters was slowed as we can see on television these days.

Many of these cartoons are rebooted in the sequels over the years but still classic version of those cartoons are unmatched. The reason these vintage characters are so attractive is because they grow on you as story goes ahead in the animation. This is quite hard to find with today's rushed and complex 3D and 2D animation. In the age of sequels and reboots, these cartoon shows in DVDS are definitely worth as a collectible item.

Saturday Morning Cartoons 60's Shows DVD Compilation

You can find some 60's Cartoons compiled under two DVD sets named - "Saturday Morning Cartoons 1960's". Not all toons are likely to be there but atleast many DVDs are compiled with some popular cartoon character shows.

I got my hands on the oldest japanese anime with the story of arabian nights. The story was about the sindabads adventure in ship. You can find there are ton of new and old animation and comics on this story. But the japanese artists back in time came up with their own variation of the story. You will find that like most of the aranian night stories, this also is interesting for anyone regardless of their age.

However like most of the classic aka vintage animated stories, this also is slow paced animation. You'll enjoy this slow peace and also love the animation. It has some good twist to the original sindbad story. There are some new addition which makes the story quite refreshing and worth watching atleast once.

If you like watching arabian night stories then Sindbads adventure anime is for you.

Expect vintage style animation and also make sure that you don't mind story different than that canonical lines. That said, grab the DVD of the animated movie or see if you can get it by any other means ;)
Disney has some of the good movies before 3D animation craze overtook them. Atlantis The Lost Empire is one such film where Disney came up with one good story. Though you may feel like movie was more suitable for general audience than kids. It has some good animation, good character development and a nice ending.

Most of the people these days don't like the disney movies due to the way they are coming up with humorous yet boring stories in 3D animation. However, this movie being old 2D animation, has a very good plot. Infact the movie looks pretty much like live action experience due to the way story unfolds.

I suggest checking if you can get DVD of Atlantis The Lost Empire

If you like 2D animated movies then you should definitely check this one.
I got the chance to watch this movie at one of my friends place. I know that after watching batman movies, It's quite hard to like superman stories. I am not a superman fan anymore because of lack of schemes in the superman comics and the animation. However, I do appreciate animation and other comical inputs from the superman movie. Superman unbound is yet another conflict with brainiac, the same vilian which superman encounters plenty of times in many previous animated series and movies.

This time the brainiac is different, he is not from krypton as portrayed in previous stories. He is not interested in destroying entire civilization. He keeps the organisms intact and stop them from ageing, gets their knowledge and then destroys their planets. He keeps the organism in such way that they are not destroyed and only copy of them is preserved at brainiacs ship.

What to like?
  • Kara, supergirl, history
  • Animation
What not to like?
  • Slow, repeatative and weak story
  • Less poweful brainiac
  • Typical storyline

Is it worth to get DVD? I don't think it is worth it unless you are superman or DC comic fan. You can watch it on amazon instant video or get bluray if you  want.
